Breakfast Bowls: Ditch the bowl of cereal and give one of these delicious bowls a try instead!
Breakfast is a great time to fill our bellies with whole foods. Our bodies have rested all night so lets give them something to start off on the right foot.
Kids will create 3 different types of bowl; Grain Bowl, Potato Bowl and Chia Seed Bowl. We will discuss how they can prepare these ahead of time and warm them up every morning to save time during the busy school week! Kids will learn how to; dice potatoes, soak & cook grains, and prepare a poached egg. We will also transform magical Chia Seeds into pudding! Along the way we will talk about how each of these bowls is packed with whole foods and what that means for our growing bodies!
Kids will take home a Breakfast Bowl Recipe Book. (Gluten, Dairy, Nut and Refined Sugar Free Recipes)
Ages 6 and up, however if under 8 yrs old, must have parent or guardian with them.
Instructor : Karen Holman
Karen Holman is owner of Karen Marie Wellness in Hudson, WI. She is an Integrative Nutrition Coach that specializes in Women & Family Wellness. Her love of cooking and teaching kids in the kitchen grew naturally as she studied nutrition and created nourishing meals for her family. Originally inviting her own children into the kitchen helped with dinner time chaos, but that flourished into the realization that cooking is an important skill ALL children should learn. While she enjoys teaching both children & women new cooking techniques and how to create whole food menus for home, her passion is watching her client’s lives blossom through their time together. Nutrition can be a catapult to healing, joy, adventure and anything else you desire. She is thankful to have the opportunity to share her passion for whole foods cooking and nutritional knowledge, with the families in the Hudson community and Grand Fete!
