Herbal Tea
Herbal Teas (also called tisanes) are actually not tea at all because they do not contain the leaves of the tea plant (like a black tea, etc.). Herbal teas are made from herbs and spices and are steeped with hot water to offer a delicious and healthy "tea".
Caffeine: Usually caffeine free
Steeping: Herbal teas require hot water and longer steep times to release the oils and bring out the flavors of the dried herbs and spices. Bring water just to a boil and pour over tea. Remove tea bag or ball after 3-5 minutes. Bitter tea is tea that has burned in too hot of water.
